22 September 2015 to 24 September 2015
Organisers: CRIE, the World Bank Strategic Impact Evaluation Fund (SIEF) and Hungarian Prime Minister's Office (Monitoring and Evaluation Department)
Participants: Managing authorities (MAs), practitioners, and academics from Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia.
Objective: This workshop aims to foster the creation of a community of practice for counterfactual impact evaluation of policy interventions financed under the European Social Fund. The first two days will be dedicated to pencil-based and computer based training, as well as team work on how to prepare an impact evaluation plan. On the last day the MAs will present CIE studies and projects developed during the two days of team work. Two well-known economists - Gabor Kezdi and Martin Kahanec from the Central European University in Budapest - will join the workshop by presenting papers with a special focus on Eastern European economies.
